Fishing the Houtman Abrolhos Islands

One of Western Australia’s most unique marine environments is the Abrolhos Islands. Situated on the edge of the Continental shelf 60 km’s west of Geraldton the Abrolhos consists of 122 islands spread into 3 major groups, Wallabi, Easter & Southern Group which extend North to South over 100km’s of ocean.

Every year between April and September Blue Juice Charters operates out of Geraldton offering 3 to 5 day fishing trips and getaways amongst WA’s unique Houtman Abrolhos Islands aboard our luxury live aboard vessel Blue Juice II.

All trips are fully catered; your only requirement is to bring sleeping bag, pillows, toiletries and alcohol.

Your days are filled with your choice of fishing, surfing or diving.

Come by yourself, with a couple of mates, or private charter the whole boat, we can tailor make the trip to your needs.

The Abrolhos Islands lie in a stream of Western Australia’s warm southward flowing Leeuwin Current which starts to flow in April and runs through the winter months until October.  Fish life and fishing is top notch Baldachin Groper are endemic to the Abrolhos along with pink snapper and Spanish mackerel.  It is a superior food fish, and one of the prize catches sort after by Western Australian reef fishermen.
