Abrolhos Islands Dhu Fish – the best fishing at the Abrolhos with Blue Juice Charters

A lot has been happening over the last month with “Bluewater” settling back into the live aboard fishing season at the Abrolhos Islands. The early part of the season was a bit slow, but things seem to be going back to normal; amazing fishing action around the islands.

The Baldchin Groper and Coral Trout seem to be poking their heads out from the reefs- it is as though they decided on a post summer siesta. Finally they are up moving, and the Dhu fish well at the Abrolhos they love a soft plastic too.

There have been some special fishing moments this year. In previous years, we began to catch Red Emperor and Rankin Cod, on a more regular basis. These northern species coming up in size have been a rel treat for the anglers on board. The year the surprises continue, wait for the image alongside, a monster Coronation Trout, now a Coronation trout is not that uncommon, from Perth to Exmouth and beyond, they are a treat to catch while fishing and at 45 to 50cm, they are a sweet fish…

The Abrolhos Island monster came in at 80cm. certainly one of the biggest we have ever seen.

There have been loads of other great memories and some people would rather forget. the early part of the season saw a good run of Yellow Fin tuna, though these seem are starting to disappear – pretty common about this time each year. The larger pink snapper are starting to move around the Islands.

With May underway, the Abrolhos season is in full swing. We have a couple of late specials to add some extra value for you; vouchers and some trips with discounts for new bookings, call our office and we can give you a run down. 9401 4666.

Pink Snapper like this love the deeper waters of the Abrolhos Islands. Let Blue Juice take you there.
