Denham / Shark Bay
Shark Bay comprises the town of Denham, the nearby communities of Monkey Mia and Hamelin Pool, as well as the jaw-droppingly beautiful national parks Francois Peron and Dirk Hartog.
Departing from Denham, we head west to the Cliffs of Steep Point and Dirk Hartog Island and continue north up to Dorre Island travelling through some amazing fishing grounds.
Chase the Spanish Mackerel along the cliffs and bottom fish for Red Emperor, Pink Snapper, Coral Trout, basically a mix of all the best table fish.
Dive, swim or snorkel, and explore Turtle Bay, Shelter Bay or Dorre Island, one of the many places we will anchor overnight during your time with us.
The evenings on board Talasea II are your time to relax. Arrive back from your daily adventures to a delicious feast complete with plenty of local fresh produce and of course freshly caught fish. Dine with spectacular sunsets and starry nights as we shelter in one of the stunning bays.
Each morning wake to the smell of a fully cooked breakfast whilst we make our way out to start our day’s adventures.
Talasea II can accommodate 12 guests and four crew in six cabins with four bathrooms.

Be awestruck by the famous stromatolites of Shark Bay, ancient living structures that date back millions of years.
Go back in time to Western Australias’s First pearl industry or take in the sights of Dirk Harthog Island, and taste Gin from Australia’s most western stills.
With all that to explore, it’s time to start planning an escape to the westernmost point of Australia.

Please bring along an esky or car fridge to load your fish at the end of the trip, if you require a foam esky please advise us well in advance
Fish Transport
The cost of transporting foam eskies to the region is expensive, please bring your own car fridge or esky, Foam eskies can be arranged we do require prior notice.
Fishing info
There is a great deal of fish on offer from the iconic Pink Snapper, Baldchin Gropers, and Red Emporer to pelagics like Spanish Mackerel and Tuna. there are also Rankin Cods Spangled and Red Throat Emperors and so many other amazing fish.
The department of fisheries rules must be adhered to on all charters, these rules can change from time to time.
Talasea II has a range of Penn slammer and Fin-Nor offshore spin outfits to cover most of the fishing plus Shimano trolling outfits. there is a range of lures, though you are welcome to bring your own, as well. BYO plastics, jigs, etc.
Other Activities
Snorkelling, Diving, and Spearfishing are extremely popular, you will need to bring your own masks, etc for this, but there will be time to take in some of the beaches and a tour of the Monkey Mia Pearl farm.
How to get there
The drive from Perth to Denham will take about 9 hours depending on how many stops you take, it is advised to stop regularly and have a stretch, even change drivers.
Flying is the other option, REX provides daily flights between Perth and Monkey Mia, You will need to arrange transport from the airport to the Jetty. currently, there is no shuttle service, there are hire cars or the Denham Facebook page may get you a lift.
